New York, N.Y. — (January 28, 2026) — Absolut Vodka and Tabasco Brand have launched a new chili pepper–flavored vodka called ABSOLUT TABASCO™. The product is now available in the U.S. and will roll out across more than 50 global markets.
The vodka blends Absolut’s original recipe with a natural essence made from Tabasco’s fermented red pepper mash. The launch brings spicy flavors into the premium spirits category. It also reflects growing consumer demand for heat-forward beverages.
The vodka contains no added sugar and is gluten-free, according to Pernod Ricard. It is bottled at 38% ABV.
The launch targets consumers seeking bold flavor profiles for cocktails such as Bloody Marys and spicy lemonades. It also positions the collaboration as a crossover between two heritage brands. Both Absolut and Tabasco have more than a century of history.
According to Caroline Begley, U.S. vice president of marketing for Absolut, the collaboration reflects changing consumer preferences. She said the move aligns with Absolut’s strategy of introducing bolder flavor innovations while partnering with established ingredient brands known for authenticity and craftsmanship.
Christian Brown, head of agriculture at McIlhenny Company, maker of Tabasco Brand products, said the partnership reflects both companies’ emphasis on traditional production methods. He explained that the collaboration brings together Tabasco’s pepper fermentation process with Absolut’s wheat-based vodka distillation.
According to Brown, the result is a product rooted in the heritage of both brands.
The companies cited market research projecting that spicy vodka sales will increase by 27% by 2029, driven by growing consumer interest in adventurous food and beverage experiences.
Industry context: spicy flavors move beyond food
The collaboration reflects a broader trend of spicy and heat-driven flavors expanding from food into beverage categories. Hot honey, chili-infused sodas, and pepper-forward cocktails have gained traction across restaurants and retail shelves over the past several years.
For spirits manufacturers, these flavor extensions offer opportunities to attract younger consumers interested in experiential drinking and customizable cocktails. Cross-brand partnerships, particularly between established ingredient brands and alcohol producers, have also become a common strategy to accelerate innovation while maintaining credibility.
Packaging plays a role as well. The bottle design merges Tabasco’s diamond label with Absolut’s apothecary-style silhouette, reinforcing brand recognition while signaling a limited-edition or specialty product.
Why it matters
The launch of Absolut Tabasco vodka illustrates how flavor experimentation and heritage branding are converging in the spirits industry. By combining two globally recognized brands, Pernod Ricard and McIlhenny Company are tapping into consumer demand for spicy profiles while leveraging nostalgia and authenticity.
This move also reflects a larger CPG trend: collaborations that bridge categories and introduce familiar ingredients into new formats. As spicy flavors continue to gain cultural relevance, beverage companies are using limited-edition and crossover products to stay competitive and culturally visible.
