Shaq’s Big Chicken Brings “Big Dip Energy” to the Menu

LAS VEGAS — Big Chicken, the fast-casual concept founded by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, is officially declaring 2026 the year of the sauce. On Friday, January 16, 2026, the brand announced the launch of “Big Dip Energy,” a new campaign featuring monthly, limited-time dipping sauces designed to encourage flavor exploration.

Starting immediately with the launch of its first flavor, Atomic Ranch, the campaign targets the “sauce-obsessed” culture of younger diners. The new initiatives will roll out at participating locations nationwide, allowing guests to customize their orders—from crispy “Dunks” to the brand’s signature “Shaq Snacks”—with a rotating roster of bold new dips.

The First Drop: Atomic Ranch

The campaign kicks off with Atomic Ranch, described as a “fiery twist on a staple that pairs with everything.” It is designed to complement the chain’s fried cheese curds and chicken tenders, offering a spicy kick to the classic cool ranch profile.

Shaquille O’Neal commented on the launch with his characteristic enthusiasm:

“This is Big. Dip. Energy. It’s bold, it’s fun and it’s full of flavor – but most importantly, it’s about creating an experience that our guests can connect with.”

Catering to the “Dippers”

The strategy is explicitly aimed at Gen Z and Gen Alpha, demographics known for their preference for personalization and “food hacking” via sauces. By introducing a “choose-your-own-dip” model with limited-time exclusivity, Big Chicken aims to drive repeat visits from guests eager to try the latest flavor drop.

Josh Halpern, CEO of Big Chicken, explained the business logic:

“‘Big Dip Energy’ gives our fans the freedom to personalize their Big Chicken journey and eat what they truly crave… We’re continuing to push the boundaries of BIG flavor without taking ourselves too seriously.”
