From its origins in 1905 to the ever-growing line of premium products today, maintaining the highest standards for quality and safety has always been a top priority. The new website (that launched today btw) is designed to reinforce this commitment and reassure millions of customers who trust Boar’s Head for their food needs. What’s on the new platform? Boar’s Head’s new online hub is packed with useful information, covering everything from the company’s rigorous quality checks to its overall food safety strategy. The recall that started it all

Boar's Head Recall

You may recall that earlier this year, Boar’s Head made headlines for a significant recall. On July 26th, the company voluntarily pulled over 7 million pounds of its products from store shelves due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause serious illness, particularly for pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. This recall affected 19 states and had approximately 61 victims confirmed, 60 out of those had to be hospitalized and unfortunately, 10 deaths were confirmed. This was a wake-up call for everyone involved. Boar’s Head’s response to this recall was swift and thorough, and the company immediately initiated a comprehensive investigation and took action. Since then, Boar’s Head has doubled down on its commitment to food safety, enhancing its quality assurance processes and building this new Food Safety page as a testament to their ongoing efforts.
