Chipotle launches U Rivalry Week, offers BOGO deals to top 10 college towns

NEWPORT BEACH, CA (November 10, 2025) Chipotle Mexican Grill has launched Chipotle U Rivalry Week, a competition that will reward the ten U.S. college towns recruiting the most new Chipotle U Rewards members with a buy-one-get-one (BOGO) offer. According to the company’s announcement, the promotion runs from November 10 through November 17, 2025, with students able to track their town’s progress on a live leaderboard at rivalry.chipotle.com.

The program draws inspiration from college football rivalries and requires students to validate their college enrollment through ID.me after creating or logging into their Chipotle Rewards account. The company said the top 10 college towns will receive BOGO codes distributed directly to Chipotle U Rewards members’ digital wallets, valid for 7 days from issuance and redeemable in-restaurant only at participating locations.

How the competition works

Students can participate by logging into Chipotle Rewards at chipotle.com or creating an account at chipotle.com/order/create-account. Once logged in, students must validate their college enrollment through ID.me by visiting chipotle.com/chipotle-u-rewards. Each new Chipotle U Rewards member signup counts toward their college town’s total.

The company launched a microsite on November 10 featuring a heatmap of 100 college towns identified as among those that eat the most Chipotle. The site includes functionality for fans to write in their college town and add it to the competition. The microsite will be updated daily for seven days with signup statistics so students can track the competition in real time.

At the end of the week on November 17 at 11:59 PM PT, the top 10 college towns with the most new Chipotle U Rewards members will receive the BOGO offer. The offer will be dropped directly into the wallets of Chipotle U Rewards members in winning college towns.

“Chipotle U Rivalry Week harnesses campus spirit and turns it into real rewards for students. The college towns that activate the most superfans will have their passion rewarded with the ultimate trophy: free Chipotle.”

The BOGO offer will be limited to one free menu item with the purchase of an entree item of equal or greater value. The code will be valid for 7 days from the date of issuance and is redeemable in-restaurant only at participating U.S. locations. The offer is not valid for catering, mobile, online, or delivery orders.
