ORLANDO, Fla. — Miller’s Ale House has introduced a new limited-time menu promotion called Skillet Queso Dunks. The offering adds two queso-based sandwiches designed for dine-in customers during the spring sports season.

The new items are the Skillet Queso Bacon Cheeseburger and the Skillet Queso Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich. Both officially debuted on March 9 at participating locations across the chain’s U.S. restaurants.

The dishes combine traditional bar-style sandwiches with hot queso served in skillets. The format emphasizes game-day dining and shareable comfort food.

The two items are available for dine-in only. The Skillet Queso Bacon Cheeseburger is priced at $15.99, while the Skillet Queso Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich costs $15.49.

Both sandwiches feature melted queso designed for dipping. The company says the presentation is meant to create a more interactive dining experience.

According to company leadership, the release aligns with seasonal sports viewing periods such as NCAA March Madness. Casual dining chains often introduce heavier, shareable menu items during major sporting events to increase traffic.

What’s on the Skillet Queso Dunks Menu

The two new items feature different protein options paired with queso-based sauces:

  • Skillet Queso Bacon Cheeseburger = $15.99
A bacon cheeseburger served in a hot skillet filled with chorizo and pico queso, designed to add a spicy element to the dish.
  • Skillet Queso Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich = $15.49

Both menu items are served directly in a skillet so diners can dip the sandwich into melted queso during the meal.

According to Katie Knight, chief marketing officer at Miller’s Ale House, the goal is to introduce a more interactive dining format.

Knight said the new offerings were designed to bring added excitement to game-day dining. “The Skillet Queso Bacon Cheeseburger and Skillet Queso Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich deliver bold flavors served in hot queso that turns every bite into a dunk-style experience,” she explained in a statement announcing the launch.

The company said the items will remain on menus through the spring season, with additional skillet-style menu items expected later in summer and the holiday season of 2026.

More information about the promotion can be found on the brand’s official site: https://www.millersalehouse.com.

Why it matters

Menu innovation tied to major sports seasons has become a common strategy among casual dining chains. Limited-time releases allow restaurants to test new formats (such as skillet-served dishes or shareable dipping experiences) while generating seasonal buzz.

The use of queso-centric comfort foods also reflects broader foodservice trends where chains emphasize indulgent, visually distinctive dishes that perform well on social media. Presentation styles that encourage dipping, pulling, or sharing are increasingly designed to create viral food moments online.

For sports-bar chains in particular, these limited-time items help differentiate menus during major sporting events while encouraging dine-in traffic: something that remains critical for establishments built around live sports viewing and group dining.

Editor’s note: Source86 perspective

For food manufacturers and private label brands, the Skillet Queso Dunks launch highlights a growing foodservice trend. The trend focuses on experiential comfort food built around bold sauces, indulgent textures, and shareable formats.

Restaurants are increasingly experimenting with new presentation styles. These include dipping skillets, loaded sauces, and layered flavor combinations.

The goal is to create visually distinctive menu items. These dishes are designed to stand out on social media and encourage in-person dining.

At Source86, we help food brands and restaurant suppliers navigate these trends through ingredient sourcing, R&D collaboration, and co-manufacturing partnerships. From bulk dairy ingredients for queso and sauces to private label production and retail-ready packaging, Source86 connects brands with verified suppliers that can scale new menu concepts quickly and efficiently. Let’s talk.
