ORLANDO, Fla. — The National Mango Board (NMB) has officially opened the nomination period for its next class of board members. On Monday, January 26, 2026, the organization announced it is seeking industry professionals to fill six open seats for the 2027–2029 term.
This is a critical opportunity for producers and importers to shape the strategic direction of one of the fastest-growing fruit categories in the U.S. market.
The Open Positions
The NMB is looking for candidates to fill the following roles:
- Two (2) Foreign Producers
- Three (3) District II Importers
- One (1) Domestic Producer
Board members serve a three-year term and work directly with NMB staff to guide marketing, research, and industry relations programs. The ultimate goal is to transition the mango from an “exotic” niche fruit to a daily household staple across America.
Diversity & Inclusion
The NMB explicitly encourages nominations from a diverse range of backgrounds, emphasizing that the board should reflect the variety of the industry itself—from growers to marketers.
“The board encourages industry members to apply without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, protected genetic information, or reprisal,” the release stated.

How to Apply
The deadline for nominations is February 27, 2026, at 6:00 P.M. EST.
Interested parties can find application forms and details at Mango.org/nominations. The final appointments will be made by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.
