Confectionery giant Ferrero just announced a massive freezer aisle expansion. Specifically, the company is launching Nutella Ice Cream across the United States. This product marks the brand’s first-ever frozen dessert format in its 62-year history.
The nationwide rollout began officially on May 13, 2026. Consequently, consumers can now find these premium sweet treats in grocery stores nationwide.
Pure Innovation with Real Nutella Layers
The core differentiator of this lineup is its authentic ingredient structure. Rather than using standard imitation flavors, the product architecture incorporates the actual spread. Therefore, it stands as the only ice cream made with real Nutella.
The initial launch includes two convenient serving sizes for dessert fans:
- 14-Ounce Tubs: This at-home option features thick hazelnut-cocoa layers swirled into a smooth cream base. The suggested retail price starts at $4.36.
- Single-Serve Cones: This on-the-go choice features a crispy wafer cone packed with rich chocolatey swirls. It comes in a 4-pack starting at $5.47.
Additionally, manufacturing teams engineered the swirl to stay soft at freezing temperatures. Because palm oil has a unique melting point, the spread keeps its smooth texture inside the ice cream.
“Our job was simple: don’t mess it up,” said Isabella Chia, Chief Marketing Officer at Wells Enterprises. Furthermore, Chia noted that the team focused on delivering exactly what fans expect.
Two Historic Brand Extensions in Five Weeks
This cold treat launch represents an aggressive growth strategy for the parent company. In fact, it is the second major Nutella milestone to drop within a five-week period.
Previously, Ferrero unveiled its Nutella Peanut spread on April 24, 2026. That rollout marked the brand’s first new flavor choice in over six decades.
To scale the new frozen treats, Ferrero is leveraging its domestic manufacturing infrastructure. The line is produced by Wells Enterprises in Le Mars, Iowa. Wells stands as the largest privately held ice cream maker in the country. Because Wells operates under the Ferrero umbrella, the group can rapidly supply major retail channels.
“Bringing Nutella to the freezer aisle is a milestone moment,” added Noah Szporn, Vice President at Ferrero North America. Consequently, the brand is running a national “Freezer Fridays” social media giveaway to drive customer engagement all month long.
