Part 1 of 3: The Source. Solve. Evolve Series
Most companies plan growth through targets and forecasts. Department heads dissect processes, leaders analyse data, searching for the next move they’ll need OKR buy-in for, and colleagues scrutinise and debate all manner of external business pillars.
Always external. Rarely internal. And that’s what we set out to change.
We did things differently this year at our annual Source86 BHAG conference. We started by understanding the energy that enables growth. And when an individual energy source connects with another – whether a customer, a supplier, a colleague, or a partner – value is exchanged growth runs like a current through a circuit board of success.
Our CEO, Eran Mizrahi, together me, Head of People, realised that when you strengthen just one individual energy source, it means the entire system improves exponentially; more stability, higher intelligence, unbreakable connections, better value. So we built 2025’s conference around each individual within Source86. Here’s how…
Why Individual Growth Means Business Growth
Instead of planning through numbers, processes, systems, strategies (We did those too. Easily. Because we’re exceptionally good at addressing external business pillars), we brought our multinational teams together to ask three questions. The questions weren’t posed to each other, to their managers, to their parallel departments.
Three questions to ask yourself. Talk about tearing down the gates of your comfort zone… but that’s just the way we like it.
Question(s) on Reflection: Personal energy growth and milestones
What shaped you?
What drained you?
What helped you grow?
This was the first day of a 3-day journey exploring personal purpose, connection and potential by exploring truths about ourselves that we never have time (or courage) to face.
You’ll have to read the next installments to see how we tackled the second and third questions/parts.
This article focuses on the first question: how reflection builds reliability by rewatching your past with the objective analysis of a movie critic.
Turning Reflection into Performance
Each person created their own energy Map. This allowed each of us to visualize – and then bravely articulate – moments when when each person felt energized, challenged, and strengthened.
We discovered patterns that went far beyond culture, we found our motivation drivers as individuals. And that’s a very powerful thing to know when you’re looking to build anything meaningful. Here are some real examples we uncovered from our own business.
- When someone felt energized, they solved problems faster, ideas turned into action rapidly, and dialogue (both easy and difficult) was opened up.
- We recognised and empathised over the utter paralysation and inertia that can happen when just one individual felt drained. Now imagine Source86’s and all our stakeholder’s growth potential, when we’re all able to climb that mountain together by pulling each other out of the personal ruts of ‘the insurmountable’.
- When we felt connected to purpose, our work found its flow, and every stakeholder across our value chain found value and joy.
By visualizing how our energy moved through projects and relationships, we could see precisely where reliability strengthens or breaks down. That insight now shapes how we do business.
The Power of Collective Awareness
Once we collected all our insights into a single shared story, we had transformed three questions into three truths.
Truth 1: We thrive when we collaborate early.
Truth 2: We struggle when we work in silos.
Truth 3: We grow when we stay curious and keep learning.
Now you know the Source86 Compass for 2026
We now have clear indicators for growth drivers that have always been hard to define let alone measure.
For example, we can now measure these previously undefinable indicators to business growth:
New Indicator 1: Peer-to-peer Synchronisation Translates to Supply Chain Orchestration
Projects have a new performance indicator added to our usual accuracy and on-time delivery metrics – how well did individuals stay synchronized. Afterall, synchronization and orchestration keep your manufacturer-to-importer cycle moving, your coman batches consistent, and your private label launches on track.
New Indicator 2: An Individual’s Motivation Will fuel Their Purpose,
Values Show Us All How to Get There Together
When you uncover what truly motivates someone you’ll remove all the mystery from, alignment, performance and accountability. Knowing how to pair and delegate the right motivation (not just the right skill or talent) to a mission unlocks exponential potential.
What This Means for Our Partners in 2026
Because our team is deeply connected, you feel the difference: fewer back-and-forths, faster fixes, and proactive support that prevents issues before they arise. The clarity and connection strengthened during BHAG 2025 are already shaping how we serve you in 2026.
How does individual reflection and growth play out for our partners and customers?
- Importers and Distributors
- Shorter lead times and smoother documentation flow
- Faster customs clearances and fewer last-minute calls
- More time to plan growth opportunities instead of managing delays
- Manufacturers and Private-Label Producers
- Greater speed and stability in reformulations and production cycles
- Reliable inputs and faster feedback between Procurement, QA, and R&D
- Launch dates, costs, and quality targets protected from disruption
- Brand Buyers and Category Managers
- Consistent performance across coman and copack partners, regardless of region
- Transparent communication and unified standards across every team
- Fewer escalations and more confidence in every stage of your sourcing network
That’s what connection looks like in practice: predictable timelines, transparent updates. The alignment we built during BHAG 2025 is now the reliability you’ll feel in every shipment, every update, and every partnership in 2026.
Coming Next
Looking Back to Move Forward reminded us that growth begins with objective reflection. When we understand what gives us energy, we can channel it into systems that make reliability repeatable.
That awareness becomes our catalyst in Part 2: Owning the Now. Read on to explore how to turn that awareness into action. Because building a better experience for our customers happens in the everyday choices, connections, and commitments that shape how we show up.
It’s planning season! If you’re reviewing your supply chain partners, let’s talk.
