In “Is It Time For Corporate Culture To Go Back To School?“, Eran Mizrahi, CEO and co-founder of Source86, discusses the urgent need for corporate culture changes to support neurodivergent employees.
He reflects on how traditional expectations can lead to exclusion, noting:
Sit still.” “Be quiet.” “Pay attention.” These phrases often led to my being sent to the principal’s office, not for misbehaving, but for not fitting the expected behavior. Systemic changes are needed for corporate cultures to support neurodivergent staff. Without adapting, those who need support can disrupt the workflow.”
Eran Mizrahi
Eran underscores that workplaces, like classrooms, must adapt to accommodate diverse needs, stating:
The bottom line is that systemic changes need to happen for corporate cultures to really be able to support neurodivergent staff. As any teacher knows, it’s difficult to adapt a classroom setup to support the learning needs of a few. But when you don’t adapt your classroom, those children are often the ones who end up disrupting the classroom and the flow of the lesson.”
Eran Mizrahi
To foster an inclusive environment, Eran suggests practical steps such as adjusting workspaces for sensory needs, providing clear guidelines, and engaging in open conversations about individual goals. By implementing these strategies, companies can create a supportive atmosphere where every employee can thrive.
