Oakberry Expands Menu, Launches In-House Matcha Base in U.S. Stores

Miami — October 22, 2025 — Oakberry has expanded its menu with the introduction of its first-ever matcha base. The product is now available in select U.S. stores. Crafted in-house, the new base combines coconut milk, water, matcha, and agave. It aligns with the brand’s focus on natural ingredients and simple preparation.

The product can be ordered through participating locations and via the Oakberry app, offering consumers a fresh and energizing way to enjoy the brand’s signature layered cups. Consumers can find more details on the new base or explore the broader Oakberry menu.

Oakberry’s expansion beyond açaí

According to Georgios Frangulis, founder and CEO of Oakberry, the introduction of matcha supports the company’s goal to evolve into a broader destination for superfoods.

“From the beginning, we’ve envisioned a brand that was more than açaí; we are completely re-imagining the QSR model with the aim of offering premium superfoods around the globe,” said Frangulis. “Our goal is to redefine the matcha experience at scale — capturing consumer passion for the product through a distinctly Oakberry twist.”

The new base follows Oakberry’s earlier matcha innovations, including the Zen Matcha smoothie (a blend of matcha and oat milk layered over açaí), and a line of matcha lattes. The matcha base is being piloted in ten U.S. stores, with a wider rollout planned in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Ireland.

New creative campaign connects Japan and the Amazon

To accompany the launch, Oakberry released a new AI-generated advertisement created by PJ Ace Films. The video transitions between visuals of the Amazon Rainforest and Japan, highlighting the company’s embrace of matcha as its next global superfood.

PJ Accetturo, CEO of Genre.ai, which collaborated on the campaign, noted the project’s focus on innovation.

“We were really impressed with the Oakberry team’s creative vision for the project. Affectionately titled ‘The Matchrix,’ we loved being able to combine their iconic açaí flavor with the new matcha,” said Accetturo. “The visuals were really fun to play with and we love how embracing new technology helped us perform this production in an incredibly fast timeline.”

Store availability

Oakberry’s new matcha base is available for purchase at the following participating U.S. locations:

  • California: Venice (Abbott Kinney), Hollywood Ovation, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach
  • Florida: Brickell City Center, Doral, MiMo
  • New York: Penn Plaza, Livingston, Lexington

Consumers can also find the product through the Oakberry app and select delivery platforms.

Functional beverages meet lifestyle convenience

Oakberry’s matcha expansion arrives amid continued consumer interest in functional beverages, particularly those offering energy, antioxidants, and natural ingredients. The U.S. matcha market has grown steadily as brands from cafés to CPG companies integrate the ingredient into accessible formats.

For Oakberry, the move also reflects a broader evolution in the QSR industry, where global health-focused chains are positioning superfoods as lifestyle staples rather than niche items. Analysts view this as part of a longer-term trend toward plant-based diversification in fast-casual menus.
