Port of Subs announced on April 1, 2026 a spring and summer promotional lineup. The campaign introduces a new limited-time menu item, the Turkey, Bacon & Avocado sub, alongside a structured calendar of loyalty rewards, catering deals, and gift card promotions running through June 2026.

The brand operates more than 120 locations across the U.S. and has served communities for more than five decades. Area 15 Ventures backs Port of Subs, which is currently in active franchise development, including a recent growth push in Washington state.

The New Sub and the 2X Points Launch Incentive

The Turkey, Bacon & Avocado sub features freshly sliced turkey, crispy bacon, creamy avocado, and crisp vegetables on freshly baked bread. The brand slices meats and cheeses fresh for every order. This is its core quality differentiator against national sandwich chains that rely on pre-sliced deli proteins.

Guests who try the Turkey, Bacon & Avocado sub during April 2026 earn 2x points through the Port Perks rewards program. This mechanic drives trial through the loyalty program rather than through a direct price discount. It costs less per redemption than a markdown and deepens loyalty program engagement at the same time.

The Spring and Summer Promotional Calendar

Port of Subs built its spring and summer promotion as a multi-event calendar. This gives franchisees recurring traffic drivers across three months rather than a single concentrated offer.

2-Foot Tuesdays are available exclusively through the Port Perks app. Members unlock weekly deals on the brand’s signature 2-foot subs. App exclusivity builds first-party data while gating the best offers behind loyalty membership.

In May, Port Perks members save on new 9-Foot Sub Boxes. This catering format targets graduation and wedding occasions. May is the peak graduation catering window for sandwich brands across the U.S. The 9-Foot Sub Box generates significantly more per-transaction revenue than individual sandwich orders.

The Summer Visit Challenge runs in June. Members who visit four times in the month earn a free small sub. This drives visit frequency during summer, when QSR chains typically see softer routine lunch traffic as consumers travel.

Gift Card Promotions for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Graduation

Gift card promotions run around three key May and June occasions. A $20 purchase earns a $5 bonus card for both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. For graduation, a $50 gift card purchase earns a $10 bonus card.

Gift card promotions serve two functions. The initial card sale captures immediate revenue. The bonus card guarantees a return visit, often with additional spend above the card value.

Healey Mendicino, President and CEO of Port of Subs, stated in the company’s announcement:

“Our subs are made for moments like these, bringing people together, celebrating milestones, or just enjoying a great meal. We’re excited to offer guests fresh flavors, great value, and easy options for everything from everyday meals to big celebrations.”

Why It Matters for Regional Sandwich Chains and Their Suppliers

The 9-Foot Sub Box is the most commercially significant announcement in this release. Large-format catering products require a different procurement and logistics model than individual sandwich orders. A 9-foot sub requires advance bread production and coordinated fresh ingredient availability at larger volumes. Franchisees need a new ordering workflow with local distributors to execute this format consistently.

Port of Subs competes in the spring catering occasion against Subway, Jimmy John’s, and Jersey Mike’s simultaneously. For a regional chain with 120-plus locations concentrated in Western U.S. markets, freshly sliced meats and cheeses is a credible quality claim. National chains operate at much higher volume with standardized pre-portioned inputs. That quality gap is especially meaningful to catering buyers selecting a sandwich brand for milestone events.

The Freshly Sliced Model and Its Supply Chain Requirements

Port of Subs’ core brand promise requires a specific cold chain and deli protein sourcing model. Slicing meats and cheeses fresh for every order is not compatible with lowest-cost pre-portioned deli inputs. It requires in-store slicer equipment, whole muscle deli protein procurement, and stricter temperature compliance at every location.

For deli protein suppliers and specialty cheese distributors serving regional sandwich chains, this model represents a different procurement relationship than pre-portioned protein programs. It demands more consistent quality per unit and more precise handling standards at the distributor level.

The multi-event promotional calendar also reflects franchise-friendly planning. Each promotional element operates independently. A franchisee in a strong graduation market can lean into the 9-Foot Sub Box without depending on the Summer Visit Challenge. For operators evaluating Port of Subs as a development opportunity, a structured multi-occasion system signals operational support from the franchisor.
