Why is milk a big deal?
According to experts, people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products. Milk is one of the eight most common food allergens, and when they’re not disclosed on a product’s label, it can be a major problem. This is because some immune systems confuse certain milk proteins as harmful. Your body goes on full alert mode and it releases histamine and other chemicals that cause allergic signs and symptoms. Among the most common food allergens we can find:
- Cow’s milk (dairy)
- Egg
- Peanut
- Tree nuts
- Sesame
- Soy
- Fish
- Shellfish
- Wheat
“At the heart of ingredient sourcing is a commitment to safety and transparency. In an industry where consumer trust is paramount, even a single oversight can have serious consequences. It’s essential that we hold ourselves to the highest standards, ensuring that every product is rigorously tested and clearly labeled. The presence of an undeclared allergen highlights the need for constant vigilance and improvement in every step of the supply chain. Our responsibility is to protect consumers, and we must take that duty seriously.” Eran Mizrahi, Source86′ CEO.
