Production & Sourcing
Source86 sources coconut butter from established coconut processors in Sri Lanka and Indonesia. Sourcing across two major coconut-producing origins supports year-round availability and reduces dependency on any single region or harvest.
How It’s Produced
- Selection: Mature coconuts are selected and dehusked.
- Paring and Washing: The shell and brown testa are removed, and the white kernel is washed.
- Pasteurizing and Shredding: The kernel is pasteurized and shredded.
- Drying: Shredded coconut is dried to low moisture.
- Milling: The dried coconut is milled into a thick, smooth paste, releasing its natural oil.
- Testing and Packing: Each lot is tested against specification and filled into pails, cartons or drums.
