Production & Sourcing
Source86 sources chlorella from established microalgae producers in China. Working with multiple qualified producers supports consistent supply, grade flexibility and reduced dependency on any single facility.
How It’s Produced
- Cultivation: Chlorella vulgaris is grown in controlled freshwater ponds or tanks with managed light, water and nutrients.
- Harvesting: Mature biomass is separated from the growth medium by centrifugation or filtration.
- Washing and Concentration: The biomass is washed to remove impurities and concentrated to reduce water content.
- Cell Wall Disruption: For broken cell wall grades, the cell wall is opened mechanically.
- Spray Drying: The concentrate is atomized into heated air and dried to a fine powder.
- Sieving, Testing and Packing: Powder is sieved to the specified mesh, tested against specification and packed in sealed drums.
Harvest & Supply Availability
Because chlorella is grown in controlled cultivation systems, it is harvested year-round and is not tied to a seasonal crop cycle.
